About

Australian Marist Solidarity (AMS) is the international aid and development agency of the Marist family in Australia, Asia and the Pacific.

Working in partnership with local communities, AMS supports both long-term and short-term development projects that expand access to quality education and create opportunities for young people to thrive. Every project is locally led, ensuring that initiatives respond to the unique needs and priorities of each community.

Through the generosity of our supporters, AMS helps fund more than 50 education and development projects across up to 15 countries. Together, we are bringing hope, empowering communities and helping young people build brighter futures.

A Ministry of the Star of the Sea Province

Australian Marist Solidarity (AMS) is the international aid and development agency of the Star of the Sea Province of the Marist Brothers. The Province was established on 8 December 2022, bringing together 11 countries across the Pacific and Asia to form the largest and newest province in the worldwide Marist Institute.

The Star of the Sea Province includes Australia, Cambodia, Fiji, Kiribati, New Caledonia, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea (including the Autonomous Region of Bougainville), Samoa, Solomon Islands, Timor-Leste and Vanuatu.

The Province is home to more than 250 Marist Brothers, supported by thousands of Marists who share the mission of making Jesus Christ known and loved in the way of Mary. Through ministries such as Australian Marist Solidarity, Marists work alongside local communities to expand access to education, promote sustainable development and bring hope to young people throughout Asia and the Pacific.
